I want to keep my stock airbox, but would like to get better air flow. What mods have worked with gettint the soaked or full of grit. Holes in the bottom or sides

Thank you

I drilled them in the bottom. No sign of water and it's been probably 25000 mi. ago. I drilled in each of the squares w/ a paddle bit.

I attached a 4" drain pipe elbow to the bottom. And just installed a Amsoil Ea nanofiber dry filter.

I drilled the bottom of my 06 air box also, 3/4 or 1 inch speed bore bit for wood, it fit in the little squares, seems to breath better, I have an AFE drop in filter, with my XZT box, best mileage so far is 25.9 on paper, average about 22 or 23 all highway, all on paper, the over head only tells the temp, acurately hahaha

HOTROD thats doing about 65, around 1750 rpm my 06 is a 2500 2x4 with 373 gears SB QC first 2 whell drive ive had since 1977, im very happy with this truck, and very supprised with the mileage so far, she only has around 19,000 on her, also have the XZT box and the air box drilled out as stated earlier, really notice the mileage drop when you get her up to 75 get around 20.
