Consensus. Get more air (cool if it's hot out) to the motor as easily as possible, and cheeply some think. I've cut the bottom and side out of my boxes before, done entries to the front with the tubes and such. Intake air temp went up with some of them and not with others. Slight gain in low end power, no/slight difference in Mpg.

I did the exact same thing for nine bucks. All you need is dryer hose and a 4 inch pvc drain from home depot. Took me 15 minutes to install.

Fan CFM?

Ok just checked the specs on the fan. It is rated at 1400cfm. Of course I modified it some but I think it still moves enough air.
With the setup I have it pulls the air through the air filter. I drove the truck some more today, and what a diference. Now don't get me wrong it's not like adding 50hp at idle, maybe 20? When I tried to shift quickly and keep it at lower rpms the boost doesn't drop like normal, it doesn't drop at all. I haven't tried this at higher rpms yet.

I wonder if I need that addition to my airbox?????????????????????

Actually would the bottom of my box hold up to having that mounted?????????

If it helps, I also attached the downtube to the innerfender to stop it from shifting around.

The intake is behind the stock bumper but sticks out with the ARB,...still trying to decide if I should shorten it or not...

it's hard to see in this pic so I highlighted the intake in yellow...

Also forgot to mention the intake fan cools the heat soak from a hot motor faster and has droped the intake air temp while driving also. I may try the pvc tube out the bottom of the box as it warms up this summer to keep temps down.

I dropped in my Ea-189 air filter today. My airbox is unmodified and I could suck the filter-minder down to 1/2 or more when running WOT. Airbox is still stock, but with the Ea-189, the minder won't move. I'm not sure if I need to mod the airbox...it seems like it's getting enough air now.

B-Man, did you add any type of screen to the 90 or on the inside of your airbox?
