Air Bag Light - Please Help!
I took my dash out to install a new radio, and got a little carried away removing the console, glove box and anything else that would easily come out for cleaning purposes. Upon reinstalling everything, by ABS light is now on, and I've tried everything to get it off minus taking it to the dealership. To date, here is what I've done:
- checked the wires to the dash switch to make sure they were not torn, stripped or disconnected, and tried a new switch with the same results.
- unhooked the battery and let the truck set for about 10 minutes hoping the computer would reset everything, which it didn't.
- hooked by dads snap-on scanner up to it, and received no codes.
Any ideas?

takes longer than 10 minutes for the ECM to discharge the capacitors UNLESS you remove all battery connections (both positive and negative on both batteries) and step on the brake pedal a few times. this discharges the capacitors in the ECM to give the reset. try that first. as for codes, a generic scanner (even though its a snap on) will not dig into the ABS module unless that scanner has the capabilities and that aint cheap.
