Aftermarket Air Intake
Hi Y'all
I want to install an aftermarket air intake on my 2003 Dodge 2500 5.9 Cummins. Is it necessary to also have a 5 inch exhaust installed or can I stay with a 4 inch exhaust?

You don't have any mods listed - but 4" will be more than enough. You could straight pipe or replace the stock muffler if you want to improve the flow. Straight pipe might be a bit loud. Unless your are doing motor mods, spend your money somehwere else.

Personally, Iv got an 05 and have replaced the stock air filter with an Amsoil dropin and MBRP muffler.
I did notice a drop in the EGT of 50* with this setup.
Hope this helps.

i was under the impression you didnt need 5" exhaust till you started getting into the high hp numbers. if you are mostly stock i would stick with the 4" exhaust. as for an intake, look at s&b- for the price its one hell of a product.
