.....8 oz's of power service + 8 oz's of marvel, every tank, once a month or 8 tanks of fuel whatever comes first, 8 oz's power service + I can of sea foam.
Never had a problem yet.

I see some do and some don't use anything. I do know that I can hear and feel the difference with the PS in the tank. PS is easy to get and inexpensive also.

Runs smoother and quiter = Runs Better? JMHO

Why do you use a can of sea foam so often? all of the alcohol in sea foam is not good for your fuel system & injectors.

I am changing my vote from PS to Howe's. Just had a problem and my tank had PS in it. I ran some Howe's Meaner cleaner in it and no more clacky problem.

I tried the AMSOIL additive....sorry I did. Lost 2mpgs and took all kinds of flack from the family for the odiferous permience (it stank and didn't go away quickly enough according to them). Went back to LUCAS and got my 2mpgs back. Go figure!

Either Lucas or Redline, usually the Redline cause of the cetane boost.

I put some of the Howes anti-gel (not meaner power cleaner) in my class 8 tanks when it dropped down to -30F in Wyoming one night a couple of weeks ago. Comes in a half gallon jug for $14.00. Dumped a 1/4 gal in each 100 gal tank on fillup. Stopped for the night, left the truck running of course, got up the next morning and when I left it was really sluggish and you could tell the fuel was clouded with wax but after about 60 miles or so it was ok again. If I hadn't dumped that stuff in there I am certain the fuel would have turned to jello. Never used any before but it worked, sorta.. Here I am about 6500 miles later and my fuel filter seems to be clogging up again. It was just replaced less than 12K ago and usually lasts 25-30K. I believe the Howes loosened up some other crud in the fuel system but at least i didnt gel up that cold winter's night.

People are going to vote on whatever they use, period. Usually, people buy whatever is easiest to get. Use a diesel fuel additive that is formulated for use with ULSD and drive on down the road and you'll be fine

I e mailed Cummins a couple of months ago and asked the additive question.
They don't recommend any additives.

Been using Power Diesel and Marvel Mystry for a while.
Wondering if anything detrimental would happen if I switched to strictly Stanadyne?

I think Cummins is worried about using stuff that wasn't meant to be diesel fuel conditioner and I don't blame them - there's plenty of that being done. I know Cummins mechanics that strongly recommend using legitimate diesel fuel conditioner. Craig
