additional filter for fuel
Been reading different thread where fellas have had issues with junk in the fuel. This is my first diesel. Is this problem common? As a "newby", in considering mods what would be a good preventative measure?

it is so commen you would not believe it i have talked all the way up to enginering and they sayed hey test the injectors with a 4 filter feed line
but pumps at any station are gunna have some trash and dodges stand poin is it is not there fault so you should pay for the 600 dollar injectors
so i suggjested to put an extra filter and he said warranty would not cover it but he said it wouldnt hurt which told me yeah we have a problem but i cant say so
so that is my thoughts

You need to read this thread. The problem is that DC puts in our fuel tanks and leaves two plastic barbed fittings on the tops of the tank exposed. Those can allow moisture, water, dirt, sand whatever into the fuel tank. By placing some fuel hose on both of those fittings, T-ing them together and running some more hose with a cheapo filter on the end it, it will solve the problem. The filter will still allow the tank to vent...but not allow trash to get into the tank.
