Jacobs exhaust brake = still have engine warranty
I know I'll get lamb basted for this, but it is true.

What a crock.
I've had my truck in twice for a couple small warranty fixes and a re-flash. Neither time did any of the people working on them say a thing. Guess what? Both time I "still had an engine warranty"

i knw thats not true as well because i spoke offline with Harold about the PAC and he told me that they had to meet very specific guildlines at DC puts out for his equpiment as to not void any warranties.
PLUS under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty – Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975, aftermarket equipment which improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer’s original warranty, unless the warranty clearly and conspicuously states that aftermarket equipment voids the warranty.
In other words, that means a dealer can’t wiggle out of his legal warranty obligation merely because you install aftermarket equipment. They have to PROVE that the aftermarket equipment cause the failure. They can NOT assume it, FACTS have to be proven by a trained/qualified person to this.

If I had a dollar for everytime I had to explain the warranty issue.
No, the Pacbrake exhaust brake will NOT void your warranty, Back-pressure is Back-pressure it don't matter if we are building it, or BD, Banks, or the Mopar jake brake. Cummins say 60 psi max and WE ALL have to stay in that range.
Now lets say, by off chance the Pacbrake doe's cause a factory part to fail, Should or would Chrysler cover that failure? NO, they shouldn't nor should we expect them to. Pacbrake is the ONLY exhaust brake manufacture that covers parts, labor, and progressive damage.
So to make a long story short the dealer is saying in the unlikely event the exhaust brake causes a factory part to fail they are not going to cover it under Chrysler warranty unless it is a mopar brake. Do you really care who pays the warranty invoice, as long as it's not you?

One more question........ I have the Banks intake manifold and am thinking that the stock mounting of the compressor isnt going to work with that, anyone else have the compressor mounted anywhere else, any good ideas out there??

I just installed my Pac Brake and brought it to the dealer on Monday for oil change and tire rotation. They didnt say anything about the brake. They just let me know that I have two missing lug nut covers, which I knew about it when they were stolen!
So far so good on teh brake. I love it. I have to get used to the timing of my stops, but it works great. I hit a bump today with the brake on and heard the rear tires chirp.
My brake cost me $1125 shipped. The price went up a bit this year.

Boy do I need one of these....... Yeap, I gotta convience the wife. I am just gonna have to give Larry in the DTR store a call once the tranny is done. I can't stand it when money leaves my pocket.....

The PRXB has the variable orifice butterfly, where as the fixed orifice has a solid hole in the butterfly plate. Both run off of the air compressor (depending on the year of truck) 2002 was the last year of the vacuum operated Pacbrake for the Dodges. We still make and sell the fixed orifice but for the money and performance difference its worth it to go with the PRXB.
