Acceleration "stutter"

Having an acceleration "stutter" when first accelerating from a dead stop--cleans itself up in just a few seconds.
Have to take it back to dealer tommorrow morning so they can check the driveshaft. Seems Star told them they had some driveshafts " out of phase", whatever that means. said somthing about the yokes being welded on improperly. said if that is the case they will order a new driveshaft.
i posted something about this problem last week and someone said there had been a tsb on this problem but dealer couldn't find one.

I am having the same issue. I get a shutter between 5-10 mph. I need to get mine into the dealer aswell. I did call them the day I took it home to have them note the problem on my service record. I have 4800 miles on the truck now so I guess I better take it in for an oil change and check out the driveline

Please reply when you find out what the issue was with yours

Thanks

mine does it when heavily loaded, and giving heavy throttle. Seems that the rubber carrier bearing is deflecting alittle, the when the torque lets off, it realignes. Not too bad and wasnt going to worry about it, until I saw some signs of degrading of the mount. keep us informed about what star and dc say.

I thought about installing a leveling kit on mine but decided to lower the rear end by remove the spacers on top of the rear axle instead (due to not wanting to flip the axles on my toybox) and as a result of this I no longer have a launch shutter, thought this might help.

How did you take the blocks out, mine appear to have a bolt through the spring and the block.
Is it as simple as removing the bolt?

maybe this is what you need.

I have the same thing on mine, but I have got used to it, but will get it fixed when a little extra coin becomes available so the Credit Card doesn't get used.

I first noticed a shutter when I installed my Firestone air bags unloaded but air pressure adjustment seemed to help the problem, then when I lifted the rear with two inch blocks it became real apparent there was a universal joint alignment problem now I've ordered a carrier bearing shim kit from Rocky Mountian Suspension and I'm waiting for it to get here. After I get it installed I'll let you know how the shutter/vibration is. Thanks for the TSB if I can't figure it out I guess I'll take it into the dealer and see if they tell me "your the one who installed the lift you fix it"!@%#

'06 with 2800 miles, and I have the same thing.. I noticed it the day after I bought the truck

It seems to go away when I put ~1000 pounds in the bed or on the hitch.

Post up with what the dealer says/does and what the results are. My previous truck was a toyota, and I can't tell you how much I hated dealing with those guys for warranty work I hope I don't have to experience the same thing with dodge.

I have had mine into the dealer and they said it "is just one of those things" to prove it they took me in a ride of two different mega cabs on the lot and they BOTH did the same thing. They said they have noticed it on every Mega Cab on the lot??? Sounds like there will be another TSB coming...

I towed the fiver this weakend for the first time with the 06. It had a studder when I put the coals to her with the trailer on. It does not do it when empty.

my diesel does this very badly when towing (feels like the truck is bouncing) up till close to 40mph...

without a load it does it till around 10-20 mph if you are pushin it hard, I thought it was wheelspin at first.
