AC Bypass Problem

AC Bypass Problem
My Ac compressor siezed Thursday. I decided to bypass it instead of ordering the clutch kit. The dealer ordered the belt and when it came in he said they tried it and they couldnt get it to work! Now they want to order the cultch kit. Why would they have a part number for a part that doesnt work? Has anyone run into this before? Does anyone have the part umber and routing diagram for this problem? It is a 2003 5.9
Thanks in advance!

Please am I the only one that ran into this problem?
Does anybody know why you can't just put on the shorter belt and bypass the AC?
They even list the part number to do it.... its a 90 7/8" belt for no AC and a 101 1/8" belt for AC. The mechanic at the dealership said he couldn't find a way to route it to make it work. Does anyone have a diagram for the routing that they have actually done them selves? the mechanic says the routing lable on top of the grill doesn't work! Do you need a diferent idlet or tension pulley?

Serp belts come in all sizes at 1/2" degradations. Maybe they need figure out exactly what length belt they need.
My '91 has a diagram pasted right under the front of the hood that displays both the A/C and non-A/C belt routing. A/C was listed as the "option" at that time. I imagine non-A/C is the "option" these days. It is a little tricky getting the belt on. Probably just an inexperienced tech.

I have a 03. My still has the picture, I took a pic, can e@mail it to you. No clue how to post it. Will try to explain the routing. Right now the belt goes from the idler to the w/p to the alt to the a/c around the tensior to the crank to the fan then to p/s back to idler. Without a/c the belt goes from idler to the alt then down to the w/p around the ten to the crank to fan to p/s back to idler. Hope this helps.
