ABS Light and Parking Brake Light

I tried to search for this, but my computer did not want to run the search function for some reason. Sorry if this has already been addressed.

Today I was pulling out a F-350 with a plow on the front, and a steel trailer with a bobcat hooked up out of the ditch (sorry no pictures, I did not even have my phone on me). Anyway, I got the guy out of the ditch, but now my dash lights up the ABS Light and the Praking brake light. I tried setting the parking brake and releasing it and it still lights up. I pulled out the smarty and checked for codes and it shows none. Anyone else have this happen? I drove the truck home and the anti lock feature did not engage if I got on the brakes like it normally would.

Right now the truck is in the driveway with the batteries disconnected to see if that changes anything. Hopefully this is just a little fix or something that fixes itself cause cash is a little short right now.

Thanks guys,
Alex

smarty is not capable of digging that deep into the system to be able to pull codes on ABS system. Sorry, can't help ya any further than that.

Could be the rear wheel speed sensor located on the pumpkin on the rear axle. (at least that's where it was located on my previous truck, not sure about my 04.5)

I had the same symptoms on a 2000 Dodge 1500, and that is what it was on mine.

Also seems like the speedo didn't work until 10-15 mph or something like that.

On the 2003 and up Dodges the wires going into the sensor on the rear diff tend to break contact and cause the ABS and brake warning lights to come on along with that stupid anoying ding. Check it out.

It is fixed now. Unhooking the batteries seemed to make the truck happy. When I started it up again last night, I drove for about 10 yards and the truck dinged and both lights turned off. Before I drove I checked all the fuses to make sure it was not something like that, and all were good. It was a little to cold to crawl around the truck and check wires.

I did not know that the smarty does not dig deep enough to pull codes on the abs system. If I would have checked for codes manually would it have shown any?
