70 MPH Vibration Fixed by DC
#16
I understand. Some of the viibrations in years past and with the Nissans at certain hiway speeds had a oscillation side to side vibration that shook seats and mirrors.Once saw a Nissan truck that had been hit in the rear and had a loose bumper. On the interstate with that loose bumper the oscillation was horribly pronounced.Early 70s G.M.trucks had a similar deal. The fix for them was a one piece shaft. The NISSAN trucks there was not a fix. Some complained terribly ,some never uddered a word.Lost a friend over one of these trucks.I pleaded for him to get a Toyota but NO he had to have a Nissan after I repeatly warned him of it and there was NO repair.Bought one and withen a month was a daily fixture with me at work.Drove me up a wall. This lasted with Nissan several model years.Cadallic Brougham and Buick Roadmaster(rwd v8s)had a drone/boom that had a TSB about 28 pages long.My rep told me DO NOT ATTEMPT REPAIR.Just tell anyone thats really upset we'll buy it back from the jump street. No one thing fixed two vehicles in a row and Rep said too exspensive to repair, cheaper to buy it back. Some vehicles did it and some did not. They never could explain why other then harmonics at certain speeds.Would have been nice if on the Dodge the fix was lock/unlocking front hubs.Maybe it is and they won't because of exspence.I can say I bet the engineers have a CLUE to what it is but told to be "mum".I use to talk to STAR often and at times one of them would give hints to the REAL root of a problem with a "thats all I can say at this time"same with the G.M.and Nissan repair hot lines.

He meant its to bad the cummins is in a dodge. Which i strongly disagree with. I wouldnt care if my truck rattled bolts loose at 70mph; i wouldnt trade it for an f-150. I need something to haul with so i wouldnt want an F-150; but surely there is a simple fix for every truck that vibrates. They just havent found it yet. Good luck with your new truck; and im with HID on this one. Some guy will buy it cheap and fix it and have an awesome truck for cheap.

i guess vibration worries are just in the eye of the beholder. mine might vibrate to some not at all to others, but i might as well sell my dog as my truck. dc is ok by me. good luck with the ferd.

Lots of vibration issues are NOT always a SIMPLE fix obviously.Other industarys have vibration issues also that are NEVER cured(plains/trains/boats/ships etc.)as I stated before,Cadallic Brougham and Buick Roadmaster had a TSB 27 or pages in length and NO two auto's fixed by any one portion of the TSB.Just ONE example.
