fyi 03 6sp w/ stock tires is just a tick over 1900rpm @ 60mph, swaping 35" tires puts it @ the same rpm @ 70 mph....

Thanks but I really would rather have stock size tires on the truck. Anyone know what my rpm's will be at highway speeds with stock tires and 3.73 and the 6 speed?

With the G-56 6spd they should be around 2200rpm at 70mph.

Wow, I was hoping it would be better than that. So the 3.73 gears will only be a few hundred rpm dif than the 4.10's? Well, I guess I'll still do it eventually if I find a donor.

Thanks,
Will

Not interchangeable.

although the grapevine is active with thoughts of bringing it back to make up for lost fuel economy on the new emissions engines.
Thats what I meant , Put the whole Dana rear end in . Find a wreck that has 3.55 gears , change the whole thing.

FWIW, the truck in my sig has the stock 265/70/17's and I'm turning 1,950 @ 65 mph in 6th. I have the 3.73's.

You also have a transmission that Dodge no longer puts in their trucks. The G-56 is just short of the NV with 4.10s

Thanks! That is what I need. Makes more sense to get the GV unit then. I can keep the low gears in the unlikely event that I need them and still turn lower rpms at highway speed in double OD.

Thanks again.

[DeNiro voice] You talkin' to me? [/Deniro voice] If so, the reason I posted that was Will is looking at an 03, which has the NV like my ram. This will give him an apples to apples comparison.

No problem, Will.
