truck died the other day and thought it might be lift pump, checked out ok.batteries were a weak, tried charging them and it says their charged but if i let it sit a while they re weak again.i had troublr codes come up of p0148,p0111,p1755 and p 2509.i hooked some booster cables up to the truck and all the codes went away.I said all that to say this,is bad batteries a possibility of keeping it from cranking?I also changed the fuel filter.

Yes, bad batteries will cause all sorts of problems. Its a diesel, it needs lots of amps to turn it and build compression. Thats why it has two batteries. Replace them as a set.

Same thing happened to me the other day and the drivers side battery was dead, the other showed around 600 cca. I replaced both and I am good to go. Did you notice your interior cab lights also shutting off and any problems with the radio? My int cab lights would go off quickly after opening the door and my radio would not work a couple of times. I think this is the computer shutting off unnecesary load for the engine to keep on working.

Why is it that everyone thinks changing the fuel filter will make a truck start when it ran fine the day before but all of a sudden won't crank over like it did?
