6 speed with 3.73's is running alot higher rpm at 75mph. That's why I went with the auto.

 

i have the 6 speed and love it!!! And I raced my buddy with a bone stock 06 auto with the 4.10's, and we were even untill about 50 mph, then i pulled away from him.....just a matter of how fast and accuratly you can row through the gears....and the 6 speed will chirp into 3rd and 4th gear....no auto does that unless modified!!

 

Um im not on the freeway often, but i do pull heavy locally on occasion. The 6 speed im lookin at is a pretty rare truck. has the 6 speed and plow option, which i like because i plow! but then again when im doing those things im not really working. im plowing my own and my friends driveways and hauling a race car trailer LOL

I guess ill go with the 6 shooter! i can shift pretty quick *evil grin*

I've stoplight-raced a few times with my G56 '05, and it's amazing how fast you can shift when you try

When the truck was new & empty, chirping the tires was child's play. After I rigged it out as a 10K# service truck, it'll still scratch 3rd

I just power-shift like I do in my '65 GTO... keep the right foot matted, stomp on the clutch & yank the shifter - instant whiplash. I'm really impressed at the driveline strength of these CTD Rams

I drive agressively LOL so if it chirps the tires weighted down, im game! how does that G56 shift?

Ok, well I got a 06 2500 CTD QC SB 6SPD 4x4 I am going to be picking up in a week. I has the G56 and I wondered would it be a benefit to stop by discount tire and pop on a set of 315 BFG AT KO's (on the Stockers) to help the freeway RPM's? It has the BFG Rugged Trail TA's on it now.

That reg. cab/6spd is SWEET! If there is one thing I could change about my truck, and could do it all over again, I would hold out for a manual tranny. To think how many lanes of traffic I could black out with that sends chills up my spine! Nice touch on the manual roll up windows too.. going old school on us!

 

What do they want for the st reg cab? Resale might hurt you on that truck.
