Wink 48re looking better and better!

Check this out, seems the 48re is the only transmission now out of the 3 that has no major problems!

I was just saying it looks like both the allison and the torqshift transmission are having major problems, but the 48re has been pretty much trouble free!

Yep, they are having some huge problems out of that tranny right now. The excuses for buying a Ford over a Dodge are getting pretty thin these days.

I bought my Dodge in December. Found these boards. Doubted my choice a little, read some on the Fords on here and other forums...Darn glad I made the choice I did.

I unloaded my '03 over a vibration Dodge can't seem to figure out.
But at least it held together while massaging my backside.
I heard a guy one time say he'd rather have a Dodge with a Hemi than a Ford with a Powercroak.

I heard on the news that Ford is haveing some problems with the new f-150. seems they like to burn up and take you home or shop with it. This is not new because the power pant I worked for have a brand new 02 f450 v10 burn to the ground with only 4k miles on it.

Not trying to bash, but it always seems when Ford has a recall it is over something that might cause a fire. A few years back right after highschool me and my buddies were all into our trucks and we would argue and bash each other just for fun. I was a Toyota man and my friend was Ford to the bone (actually had ford bed sheets ) and owned a ranger. There was a huge recall about that time for Fords catching on fire. When he would come over to the house and I would make him park his truck in front of the fire hydrant. He hated that. A few years later after Ford bought his new F150 back from him, he now drives a Z-71 and will never go back.
