48re clutches & bands??

48re clutches & bands??
anyone had to replace either of them?? iam adding a HTS TC,VB, inputshaft this week, and was wondering how the clutches & bands have been holding up in everyone elses trannies??

When I had my trans done, my builder recommended changing out all the clutches with upgraded ones, which we did. He also replaced the bands. He showed me the stock one and the upgraded ones and explained how/where they cracked occasionally. It was a no-brainer, just more money, of course.

Can't remember exactly the price for either. I think the clutches were $7 each. I may be way off. What ever it was, it wasn't a concern when I was dropping several thousand dollars at the time.

I told my guy I was going to eventually have 600hp at the rear wheels (dreaming!) so it is good insurance. More clutches in the packs also I believe for more holding force. I'm not a trans guru. Matter of fact the whole auto trans is like a bunch of voodoo to me....
