3rd gen basics
Ok...I haven't changed my sig yet so you can see what I'm familiar with...
Just bought a 2004 QC 3500 4x4 305/555 Auto and have basic questions:
1. Where do you check fuel pressure ? I've still got my Briar Hopper fuel guage...but, where is the tap ?
2. What are some basics on mild bombs ? e.g., Air Filter / Silencer Ring etc...
3. Looks like the CAT was replaced with straight pipe, but the muffler is intact.....I did vice versa with my 2nd Gen...comments ?
4. Is there a "dodgeram.org" equivalent site for the common rail engines ?
5. Any thing an old bomber with a new stock toy needs to know ?

Congrats, and you are lucky to get a 305/555! Hope you are loving it!
You can get a tapped banjo bolt from geno's to insert in the cp3 fuel pump to get fuel pressure, or buy the genos polished billet fuel filter cover which is tapped. The billet cover is sweet looking. A downside is that you have a hose coming out of it so you can't use a socket anymore to remove the filter. Also the cp3 is 'downstream' of the filter so you can monitor fuel filter life with the gauge.
There are many air intakes out there - I like the Scotty3 myself. Many like the AFE PG7 setup. Silencer ring is removeable and makes more noise but no performance gain.
305/555's don't have CAT's, only the 600 series and up do.
Old bomber advice - use CI-4 rated oil in your new toy - not sure what you had in the old one.
Spend some time searching, the 3rd gen forums have been very active!
Hope this helps, and enjoy that new truck! You won't believe how clean the oil stays
