373-> 410

How much trouble is it to change a 373 rear end to a 410? Do you just have to change the ring and pinion and thats all? Or is there more to it than that?

I've never changed one but I believe it's the ring gear and pinion. You're going to get a quicker load pick up from dead start but your fuel mileage is going to take a hit. Engine RPM is going to go up also.

I changed to 4.10 and all they changed was the ring and pinion but my truck was new, I'm sure with a truck with alot of miles it would be smart to change the bearings, seals, etc...
