2500 tow package
Looked at an '04 with the caqmper tow package yesterday.
Was surprised to see it had no rear sway bar and no helper springs.
Do I have to get a 3500 single rear wheel to get the sway bar and springs?
Asked the salesman and he said he was not sure.
Any input on this would be a big help.
My 97 2500 has the springs and a sway bar in the rear.
This makes a big difference when towing heavy.

Re:2500 tow package
Richard,
In a nutshell, yes. The only significant difference between a 2500 and a 3500 is the 3500 has helper/overload springs. Neither has a swaybar (Dodge says they are not needed with new spring setup). It looks to me like the 3500 SRW is just a marketing ploy. They simply took the 2nd Gen 2500 with the camper special option (overload springs) and called it a 3500.
Since I do not carry any heavy loads (and the 2500 tows as much as a 3500 SRW) I saved the money and added taxes of a 3500 and got a 2500.
Hope this helps,

Re:2500 tow package
Make sure you check the weight limits of all the trucks first. Depending on what you plan on carrying you may decide that the 3500 with training wheels may be worth it ;D
They don't run but a little moare than the 3500 SRW.
If I were to do it again I will get the 3500 with training wheels even though I love my SRW short bed ;D ;D
