2006 ram 3500 5.9L Turbo Diesel engine turns 2 revolutions after key is switched off
Hey everyone! I am hopeing that someone out there has heard of this problem before because noon else has. I have a 2006 ram 3500 5.9L Turbo Diesel engine and it turns 2 revolutions after key is switched off. It is NOT the chirping issue that some have. It literally runs a couple seconds AFTER the key is out of the truck and it has been turned to the off position. Before anyone asks, it doesnt matter if I towed anything, let in run a while after driving to cool off, or whatever it does it EVERY single time no matter what. I have had it in the dealership a couple of times and they flashed the computer, reset the computer, changes solenoids, checked relays and fuses and they say that nothing is wrong. This is the 6 speed version. Please let me know anything that will be helpful. Thank you!

This is nothing more than a guess, could you have a couple leaking injectors that are keeping the fire burning after the key has been turned off?????
Have you checked your oil level lately?

Mine turns a lot more than 2 revoulutions when the key is turned off. It's normal. I didn't notice it when I had the auto, but with the 6spd, the engine takes about a second to fully stop after I turn it off.

Mine does the same thing as silver76 does, i shut the truck off and wait about 3 seconds for the truck to completley die before i get out, just so i can save the life of my door jam hinges.
