2006 Dodge Serpentine belt broke

So, I was on the way home and my power steering and brakes went out while I was on the interstate. When I popped the hood I could see the belt was all shredded and there was coolant all over the engine compartment. What all should I check in the morning to see what might have been damaged? Thanks.

Edited to add that I have been noticing that the power steering was not as good as it should be when I first start driving for the last week or two. How would I check the power steering pump?

Coolant everywhere has me concerned. Look at the seep hole in the coolant pump. Hopefully the water pump failed (maybe seized and took the belt) as opposed to something getting thrown into the radiator when the belt went. Also, hopefully you were able to shut down before the engine overheated.

Any number of things could have been damaged including overheated.

Could be a bad water pump, which could be leaking out of the hole as mentioned or out the front bearing and shaft.

You have to put a high pressure gauge like a 100-200 bar gauge (in excess of a 1000 psi) on it and check pressures. You should be able to check the pump and the rack with the same set up depending on which way the valve on the PS tester is set. One way tests the rack the other way tests the pump.

Thanks everyone. Turns out the water pump went and caused the whole thing. I could move the WP pulley over 1/2 in every direction. I was able to get right off the road and shut down very quickly. All fixed and back on the road again.
