msatow,

Had an '04 and now an '05 2500. No problems at all with either. Put 22,000 miles on the '04, but only have 2,100 miles on the '05. So far, so good. The '05 does not seem to "lock" in to 3rd in the tow/haul mode. Have only towed 50 miles so far on flat roads. There has been a thread on this on this forum. Will it be a problem?, I don't know time will tell.

Best regards,
Alan

No problems over here. Just have under 2,000 on the odometer. Pulling a Uhaul trailer to Texas on Wednesday. No prior towing with this truck, just runnin' around town and some interstate driving. No vibes or anything. Does have kind of a "knock" or "pinging" sound, but after test driving many before I bought this, they all did...

Mine has 7k on the clock. I've towed lightly, maybe 7k or so. No problems.

2,700 miles here. No problems. I don't like how it drives in normal mode though takes too long and too many r's to lock up. I love driving in Tow/Haul mode, shifts firmer, and takes off and gets up to speed a lot faster. Have not towed yet however am going on a 1200 mile round trip with about 7500lbs of weight, so I'll see how it does, and I do pull some long hills, 7% and a few miles long. I love mine so far, i had the V10 98 Dodge and I love the Cummins

Got 8000 on mine. No problem except a very annoying pinging in the 1500-2000rpm range that I have been told by 2 different dealerships was normal. We shall see. I am going to keep taking it in and having it documented...Other than that no problems so far. OH except the Michelene LTX tires that came on mine SUCKED in the snow or mud...Sold em and bought the 285 BFG's..

4300 miles and the only trouble i've had is the serpentine belt shreding. it was replaced under warranty and so far it has been okay. other than that it has been great.

mine is straight piped also but i can't tell that much difference between the sound. my 03 was MUCH louder then the 05 but i like the sound that the 05 makes. it sounds good.

here is a sound file which most have heard:

***EDIT***

It seems to load faster if you right click "save target as"

Straight Pipe Sound/Video File
