2005 2500 Trans slipping after freeway drive-help
My Ram 2500 Cummins 4x4 (automatic trans) has been working great. Last weekend, after towing I noticed trans fluid under the truck. Seems to be migrating from the bell housing inspection panel. After cleaning, it did not leak anymore. No noticeable fluid loss. 2 days later, after a long freeway drive, when I got off the freeway and stopped, it felt like the tranny was really slipping when I left the stop. This repeated several times until I parked. Then the problem went away. I drove to my local Dodge off-road shop in East County San Diego, CA. They changed the fluid, filter and adjusted bands. Fluid was not in real bad shape and minimal stuff on magnet. 100 miles later, after getting off freeway, same issue- Slipping. I know the shops around here want to push for a full rebuild. Could this be a smaller problem? Something electrical, or a torque converter issue?
Thanks for any advice,
Andrew

I'm having issues with my 03 also. Just called my local tranny shop to check on a oil and filter change, he told me they don't suggest it with 90000 miles on it. He said I would start seeing more problems with it. I didn't explain to him my problems on the phone, mainly because I'm at work, but I will stop by there on my way home.
