2004 Auto Transmissions

I am looking at a 2004 3500 srw 4X4 crew short box - just wondering if Dodge offered different automatic transmissions. When I looked up the price in edmunds, they list a 5 speed auto option but I figured in 2004 that the 48re transmission would be the only choice.

Thanks for the information

Scott

The 5-speed auto was a light-duty tranny for Chrysler's light duty vehicles. It was not available in the 2500 or 3500 series trucks...especially behind the Cummins!
