I have an early 600 [truck vin is 187xxx] that belches out
a huge cloud of smoke at start up. The smell of raw fuel is
thick. The truck has less than 2000 miles on it. When I first
picked this truck up, it did not do this. Has anyone else had
this problem.

That is not normal. Take it to the dealer.

 

Thats where it is now. They wanted it droped off this morning, but, I said
no, you will have it the night before so you can see it smoke.

There is a reflash for it. I have not got that problem but I do have a flat spot in the throtle that is going to be fixed tomarow. When my service manager was looking up any posible reflashes the smoke at start up was one of the three available for my truck. It does not do it yet but if it does I will just take it in and have the reflash done.

 

I had the reflash done last month, and I still have the engine miss. I know
what the problem is, the check valve in the injector is leaking.

The re-flash will not fix that. The reflash is for misfire when accelerating.

Patrick Beyers, How do you know your checkvalve is leaking? I'm not dismissing it, just curious.
