Where is a good place to get a block heater for 2004.5 cummins? I've looked on the truck and did not find one. I think I even asked the dealer and they said there wasn't one installed from the factory. Seemed odd to me but since I didn't find one I guess it's true.

Where is a good place to buy one?

It is installed. The cord is not. Look for a black cap on the passenger side of the engine towards the front. Get a cord from Geno's Garage online.

 

I think on mine there was a black cap that screwed over the top of it. It is installed from the factory, but the cap keeps the junk out of the plugs. My dealer couldn't find it either. Take the cap off, and its ready for install. Its near the turbo inlet on the engine if I remember right. I just got a cord from O'reily's. It was cheap, and works great. especially when it hits the negative temps.
