My 600 gets 22 mpg driving 65 mph on the interstate.

There were multiple changes done to 600 engine. Do a search for Cummins 600 or check out Cummins website. They should have some tech. specs.

Also,
I didn't see your location. But, if the truck came from California, and it is an 04 it will be an SO. And a California SO at that. Do: physically check the engine and transmission before buying new or used. Example: I asked the Dealer what axel came in the truck? He replied "Chrysler of course". HA HA HA. Found out they're using AAM now, at that point. Not unhappy with AAM, after I researched, "after I already bought"!!!

Regards
jeff

No 3rd generation HO was ever mated to the 47RE. If it is an HO Auto, it has the 48RE.

Hey thanks guys, I live in Idaho so i don't think that the california deal will be a problem or atleast i will watch out. Also i guess it's available in auto and 6 spd and the auto is only in 04. I plan on getting a manual anyway isn't it the nv5600 ? Another question, are the 555 available in 3.73 rear end. the reason i ask is because most that i see are the 4.10?
thanks again
evan

Hey Evanasdfjkl, I have a 2003 HO (which I think is the "555") with 3.73 and lsd. they are indeed out there.
