2003 no start dead in driveway

Fuel control actuator, injector supply tube torque, rail pressure relief valve or lift pump would be a good start. Everyone always jumps to injectors but most times its not. Could be, but probably not.

I'm looking at buying a truck which currently is not wanting to start. The guy said it is putting out the rail pressure and that it is throwing codes saying that the injector/s are bad. He said there is excessive leak-by on the return line. Do you think I could Seafoam them loose so I can drive it back? I'd purposely not shut it off the whole way back (8hr drive), clearly I'd need to check the oil level as I went and also I plan on sending them out to F1 once I get it back. Is this crazy or is there a fair chance I'll be ok? Thanks.

Jeff...
There are a lot of a factors involved in buying a diesel truck. The most important being the owner. I good inspection of the truck will tell you how well they took care of the small stuff such as being clean, waxed, decent body, signs of shoddy repairs, etc.
Can you provide more detail on the truck? Such as year, miles, after-market stuff, and what the owner used it for? It would help as a starting point.
