2003 H/O Auto trans leaking?
I had my auto trans rebuilt after the overdrive bearing went bad about 3k miles ago by a very trustworthy indivudual with an excellent reputatuion.
On my way back from towing my 11k lb fifth wheel back from the mountains I noticed trans fluid on the front of the camper as well as under the entire truck.
No slipping and no noise what so ever. Cleaned it all up and started it in the driveway and noticed the fluid coming from the very front of the trans near where the front seal is.
I towed with the OD off and kept the speed at 60 max (2400 rps). The trip was about 300 miles each way with some minor hills hear and there. No oil present on the way up just on the way back.
Question- Should I be towing in overdrive or is locking out the overdrive better. Any idea what would cause the trans leak? I dont race or beat the truck if anything I drive like an old man. Truck has 208,000 on it.
You guys have been a great help in the past any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

If the individual you had rebuild your trans is very trustworthy and has an excellent reputation, you should take it back to this individual immediately and get him to fix your leaking transmission. As for driving it, I wouldn't because if that seal completely goes and you cook your new transmission, you are screwed.

I agree most likely will need a front pump and hopefully the torque convertor can be salvaged. Don't recommend driving like that you may need a complete trans if you do.
