2003 Cold starting problems

Will not start in the mornings unless it has been plugged in or gets a little shot of either( and i mean little). After staring it runs fine without any smoking and pretty smooth for 177k miles. It has new batteries and fuel filter.
From reading other threads it could be something with the heater grids or a bad injector leaking off pressure. My question on the injector is, if i have one leaking off pressure why would it start when the temp is over 40 or it has been plugged in.
What other things should I check before having to take it in?
TIA

The fuel pressure sensor has to see a certain pressure before PCM will turn injectors on. If fuel is leaking pass the injectors that pressure cannot be reached. With a warm engine or a shot of either the cranking rpm goes up and also the fuel pressure because engine is cranking at a higher RPM. You can try capping off injectors one at a time until you find the one causing a no start cold. I would first tighten all the high pressure connector (HPC) tube nuts at the injectors to 37 ft. lbs torque. A leaking fuel tube could give you same problem.

do you have a programmer or box in it? I had a TST powermax in mine and I would get no start or hard start problems. I would crank it and it would spit and die. sometimes three or four times in a row. Pulled the TST and all my problems where gone. Just a thought.
