2003 48RE Problems

Here we go, My tranny is giving me fits. It seems like under power or towing the tranny falls out of O.D. When this happens the tach jumps to around 3200 rpms and stays there until you let of the throttle. Once you let of the throttle its like a jake brake is engaged, the truck slows rapidly, then at some point eveything comes together and operates just fine, until you get back on the throttle again. The first time I took it to the dealer they changed the tranny fluid and filter, that would have been on 11/8/2007. I got the truck back on 11/12/2007. I drove the truck home w/ no problems. The next day my wife drove the truck, and 5 miles from home same problems started. 11/15/07 truck went back to dealer, they said they reprogrammed the cpu evetything is working great. Wife picks up the truck on 11/16/07 gets almost home same thing again. 11/19/07 I take the truck back to dealer, it has been there since. Service mgr calls today and says it is a broke wire somewhere, causing radio interference with tranny componets, the truck is now low on fuel and I need to come put more fuel in it if I want them to continue to work on it. Then he proceeds to tell me that all the work (diagnostics) they have done is not covered by the powertrain warranty. This truck is @ 67,936 miles as of 11/15/07. I feel like they are just trying to work me out of the powertrain warranty mileage limits before they admit its the tranny or TC. Any thoughts or suggestions, I am going to get the truck in the morning and try and get it to another dealer for a 2nd opinion. BTW I am the 2nd owner of this truck, powertrain warranty is still good correct? Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance.

Cummins of Weatherford Oklahoma fixed this truck in a 24 hr period. It turned out to be output speed sensor.

I hate to say it but most Dodge dealers just don't know what they should about these trucks that I have ran accross. I'm not supprised a Cummings dealer fixed it so quickly. Oh and if you want parts go find a real Cummings dealer not some truck shop that sales Cummings parts. They beat the heck out of Dodges pricing everytime. Like the injector wirng harness under the valve cover on my 2005. With my business discount at my dealer it was 99 and some change. Went to Cummings to buy a injector so I gave them the box for the harness to get a price {hosed by Dodge again} 38 an change no discount. Go firgure. That was the last time I used a Dodge dealer for Cumming parts.
