Well took a trip to Lost Wages (and I did) and back this past week-end the vibration doesn't seem to exist maybe it's a wear in issue or fueling issue. Mine is a 2 wheel drive, when I was going to the dealer for my last oil change sitting at a light idling it was real bad but after the oil and fuel filter change it smoothed out. Maybe they are getting some real dirty fuel at the factory in Mexico and it clogs the fuel filter prematurely especially after the long shipping trip and sitting on the dealer lot. I know it wasn't a dealer fix cause they told me they would need the truck for the entire day to diagnose it and it was a day off so I said I would bring it back. Just something for guys with newer trucks to try a $15 filter may cure it for you.

I appreciate your optimisim,...but this is a real vibration and it's not tires, nor oil changes. Think of a helicopter riding about 75ft over your truck as your going down the highway,...that's the sound and then think of your hand going numb on the steering wheel in less than 100 miles,...that's the vibration and think of a pleasing ,...Not,...to the seat of your pants. That's the verbal/visual picture. tks.

OOH,

That's a good description. I thought it seemed like someone suddenly changed my tires at 70mph to a very aggressive offroad knobby tread - noisy, and sending a pretty high-frequency vibration throughout the truck. I have to believe that DC is frantically trying to fix this. I'm gonna take mine in and "officially" complain, but I don't expect a fix any time soon. Let's see if any more guys get fixed by the TC swap. So far, that seems to be the only solid fix - at least I haven't read about one where it failed to solve the problem.

They (Dodge) supossedly have something that will be mounted onto the frame to solve the problem shortly..that was what I was told as I have the vibes at 2000rpm as well
That makes a lot of sense to me. After changing my exhaust the vibe dissapeared. I think it's the Cummins vibe hitting vehicle harmonics. Adding a weight or "mass" to the frame might do it.

That would be a good experiment for anyone that feels like checking out the theory.

It can be pretty complicated though. The weight, the location, should it be mounted solid or on an isolation mat...?

Many helicopters use devices with moving weights inside to "absorb" vibration. Without them they would shake apart.

For what it's worth, my 04.5 2wd DRW 3500 Auto has the 2000 rpm 70-75 vibration. I've got 900 miles on it. I took it out the other day on the highway for the first time and SURPRISE!! I did not know about this problem before, and I'm NOT happy. The speed limit here is 70 on the highways...

You're the first 2wd I've heard of having it.

Good news,...bad news. I'll start with the bad news,...you've got the vibration. The good news is that yours is probably a easy fix. A number of rear shafts came out that were welded improperly and that causes a vibration. Get them to switch it out with a new shaft or one out of a vehicle you know doesn't have the vibration. It's a very good chance that will solve yours. Much more difficult with the standard 70mph vibration though. Good luck.

Is everyone's vibration a constant vibration (except when you're not driving 2000 rpm) like rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr? Mine's something like rrrrrrr - silent - rrrrrrr - silent. Just trying to see if we're all talking about the same thing, or if I've got a different problem. I also don't feel it too much in the steering wheel, but mostly through the seat. I guess you could call that seat of the pants.

Mine did that up until about 70 then became constant.

Mine was more of a frame, floor sensation.

I feel mine in the steering and everywhere else. I guess the 2000rpm thing vs. 70mph thing is confusing because they both happen at the same time in high gear.

I was wondering about the donut weight on the PS hose fix for the 2000rpm vibe. I looked on mine (engine built 3/10/04) and can't seem to find it. Is it supposed to be on the newer builds or do you have to have the TSB done to get it?

Yours should have the weight. It's pretty heavy, ...black...and hangs around your powersteering hose, FYI.

Mine was built Oct 2003, came from the factory with the PS weight.

I guess I'll have another look. I sure didn't see anything like that.
