2 micron filter kit install - a few questions?

My brother (06 CTD 3500 2WD auto) and I (04.5 CTD 3500 4WD auto) are each planning to install a 2 micron kit to improve the lives of our injectors. Neither of us has symptoms of failure and we'd like to keep it that way. We would like to take a Saturday and do this job on both trucks together.

Will the same kit work on both of these trucks?

What is the best kit available and from whom?

Is there a DIY link with pictures and stuff?

Are the stock filters still used? If so, is the Baldwin still the one most recommended or does the 2 micron make it a moot point?

Go to www.glacierdieselpower.com They have kits or universal remote mounts. A little pricey but quality stuff. U can also check out www.vulcanperformance.com They to have stuff to make up a filter kit too.

The Glacier kit works for 03 -07 trucks without engine mounted APPS. If you have the engine mounted APPS you have to get a remote kit and mount it elsewhere. I have it installed on my 08 and Im very happy with it.

I also like my gdc kit. Have a 10 mic prefilter mounted between the tank and the stock filter. Easy to install and the price was reasonable.

Ahhhhhhh. That helps. I'll take a look. Any idea when they moved it?

Also, my brother has the in-tank lift pump and mine is the original canister mount. Are the kits different for the different pump locations?

Just remember to put your fuel filters on the pressure side of the pump, not the suction side!

Looks like I have the engine mounted APPS in mine. So, where is the best location to put the filter? I assume I need to buy the remote mount kit. Kinda pricey . . . what about the Cat filters, any good?

The link above is my set up, dual filter set up cost me like 75 bucks to make. Cat makes a good secondary (2 micron) filter and a so-so primary ff/ws.

You can see in my sig what I did..

I have read (but not verified) that the GDP kit I have will fit with the APPS if you mount it backwords.
