1st time owner, used truck, what maintenance?
This is my first post
I am fairly mechanical, but have never owned a dodge before
I just purchased a used 2003 HO-6speed, 2wheel drive, with 132,000 miles and am awaiting delivery.
of course the used car salesman told me that the truck needs nothing
but I also do not know the maintenance history, and feel It would be wise to flush most of the fluids and go through things before I start using it.
I'd love a little newbie advice
1) what fluids are recommended for everything.... oil, coolant, tranny
2) what service manuals are best. I haven't looked yet, but don't want to spend hundreds on a factory service manual, is there a cheap source for a good manual?
3) anything I should pay special attention to that is a known wear item?... ball joints, or something? especially at 132K?
thanks in advance guys for any tips or advice
I've been into cars for a while, but this is my first try at a truck.
I'm usually a ford guy, but these ram trucks sure seem to have the ford diesels beat without question.
