17mm. hex
Where do I find one? I couldn't find one at Sears or Pepboys and plan on doing all my fluids tomorrow. At both places 10mm was the biggest I saw.

I found one at my local Sears when I needed one if I recall correctly. You can always try a Harbor Freight Tools if you have one close to your place, or as a last resort I am certain that NAPA carries them (although around $20 if memory serves me).
Good luck

Along the lines of the 17mm tranny plug:
I have heard people say that there is a 17mm plug on BOTH sides of the NV5600 6spd.
Dumb question: Which plug (driver or passenger side) do you take out to drain and add new fluid??
Also, at what mileage did you perform your 1st tranny oil change?? My truck currently has 23,000 miles and I have not changed it yet....
Many thanks..

there is a PTO cover on both sides, that is how you drain the tranny. Remove the bottom bolt on the PTO cover, out it comes. To refill you pull the 17MM plug and refill.
I changed mine at 50k, Dodge says it's lifetime fluid... That tells me it'll keep your tranny functioning until about 71,000, then it's no longer Dodges concern.
I pulled the PTO cover off completely and cleaned out the extra oil and glitter in the bottom of the housing. Seeing what was in there, I'm glad I did. I'll do it all again at about 100k, which will probably be this summer.

Yeah, I wondered about that "Lifetime" oil in the Tranny. Should have realized that it was the lifetime of the warranty. The only issue I have is that the owners manual states only a MOPAR part number and it is different than the 5 speed. The differentials call for a GL-5 which is not a problem, bought a 5 gallon can for about $110. This is about $3-$4 a quart less than buying by the quart.
