07' Mega dually 4x4 Milege ???
I am thinking of trading my current truck for a Mega cab 4x4 dually. I was wondering about fuel mileage, both empty and loaded heavy. My currrent truck gets 18-20 empty, and 10-13 pulling my camper. Are the new trucks close to this? I know the 6.7 will be out soon, but I think I'll stick with the 5.9. Any info is appreciated...Cat Cracker.

Mine too, Rich. It's a big drop from my old 03 which got about the same as yours Cat Cracker. Hopefully when it breaks in it will go up. I drove 300 highway miles yesterday with the cruise set at 65mph which was just barely over 2000 RPMs. My overhead shows 18.0 mpg. I did have 1000lb in the bed for the first half of that trip though....

I have an '06 version of your truck and have gotten an average of 16.5 over the first 4000 miles with all my mods. The Smarty is the BEST thing for MPG because it keeps the turbo out of it when cruising. I went from 10psi @ 75MPH to 5psi. HUGE diference!

I don't even have 1K on mine as yet... but, so far overhead indicated has been (all empty, no towing) ~ 13/14mpg when averaging 75MPH on highway, 19/20mpg when @ 55mph and being extremely gentle and 16/17mpg around town (not a load of start/stops). Best is coasting along on flat, rural roads @ 45-50mph.

Thanx for the info on the milege. I'm going to get a new truck, and I'm not sure which way I should go. (5.9-4speed/6.7-6 speed) I'm leaning heavy on the 5.9, because its proven, and doesnt havea DPF. (hows that going to affect milege?) My wife want me to check all my options, including...Gulp!..Chevy...ugh...I looked over on their forums, and the LBZ guys are getting 7-9 mpg towing fairly heavy (8-10k). I wish I could get the Chevy interior, the 5.9 mega cab with any 6 speed auto. Are you listening Santa?..lol
