06 Wait to start light

The wait to start light on my 06 only comes on first time starting for the day and only after it has been off for 3 or 4 hrs. Is this normal? My 04 light came on every time I turned the key on

The 06's no longer do the "bulb check" that pre-06's did everytime the key is cycled. If you key on and do not see the wait to start lamp, go right to cranking. If you see the lamp, you are getting pre-heat and you should wait to start.
