06, turns over, runs for a few seconds then shuts off
06 4x4, no programmer, intake, exhaust, otherwise stock 102k miles
Never done this before. Jumped in and cranked it, turned on for a few seconds then just shuts off. Is this a lift pump issue?
Thanks fellas....

Does it stumble and die, or shut off like the ignition system was killed?
My 06 has a black key with intergrated fob..(lock, unlock, panic) Seems that when I put the key in the ignition, a little red light flashes on the dash... YOu might look for the little red light and be sure it flashes several times when you put the key in..

Same problem the other day............
Stock 06 5.9.
I had the same problem two days ago. Engine would run for a second or two at start-up and quit. Next day engine started fine and starting/running well since.
So, is the solution a new key fob?
GhettoVaquero, have you been able to start your engine since the problem occurred?

If you want to check the fuel pump put a large gatorade bottle under the fuel filter drain, and go bump the starter. Fuel should flow at about .5GPM from the drain. No fuel probably means a bad pump .

thanks guys, I had AAA tow it to the dealership but they have not looked at it yet. I could not just leave it where I was and in a bind to get it going. It would turn on for a few seconds and just turn off like I turned the key back and turned it off. Very weird, I had no idea it could be key issue. I will keep you all posted. thanks fellas

Low battery in the key fob can cause that issue. I recall someone some time ago who had a problem with the Sentry key doing the same, he also had the factory alarm, anyway, he got out and used the switch on the door to activate the lock, then manually unlocked the drivers door with his key. After that whatever reset itself and no more problems.
I had troubles with my alarm system going spastic and not unlocking the alarm, would hit the fob to unlock, open the door and the alarm would go off. I unlocked my door manually with the key and that reset the system. I also had troubles with the truck dieing a second after starting, replaced the battery and all was good to go.
