06 Mega strange occurence

Occasionally and I mean occasionally, after I start up truck and place gear selector in reverse, the horn goes off and the flashers come on. When placed into drive, the horn and flashers cease. Otherwise the truck runs normally. Is this some type of back-up alarm that can be "turned off" or is it just an anomaly?

Normally this is not a problem, but when I drive truck out to deer blind area, it tends to run off all of the wildlife and makes for a really crappy hunt.

Usually this would happen when you have an open door.

It does it with door open or closed, and like I said it is very sporadic.

Open=Intended feature

Closed=Something wrong

Could be the door open sensor. Next time check your dome light. If it stays on, then it's probably not sensing the door is closed. If it's a marginal connection, then that could explain the sporadic nature.

Door open and no seatbelt are the triggers. Door alignment not tripping a switch could be the culprit.

It was the door sensor. every time it did it with the door closed the dome light was on. Now fixed and quiet as a mouse as long as door is shut.

Thanks guys!!!

When I read of things like this, I get very angry. Detroit and all the **** lawyers in our country are to blame. We don't need all these obscure checks and balancers we now have incorporated in our cars, trucks and in fact our society. Stupid is after all a life sentence, it can never be mitigated with technology. Stupid will win every time. The rest of the population should not have to suffer for other peoples stupidity. We need to stop this idiotic compensation and let the gene pool purge itself.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this view.
