06 & early 07, what's different?

I'm really out of the loop on 3rd gens! Is there any differences in powertrain between 06 and early 07's? What rearend ratios were most common in these years? I'm talking auto transmission trucks, not manuals.
Thanks

As far as 06 and early 07, I believe they're essentially identical. The available rear end ratios were either 3.73 or 4.10. With the auto I would say it would be more common to find 4.10s, but I'm not sure.

I know there was a change in electronics in model year 06 trucks, it was somehow related to hardware that would be used on the 6.7. For instance the TST box will not work on a 5.9 liter truck built after a certain date in the 2006 model year. My 07 5.9 has the fusebox for a 6.7 engine as it has spaces for the VGT turbo and other associated stuff that the 5.9 just doesn't have.

The difference between the two is that they changed the badges for the 07s to the new style. Maybe some minor cosmetic differences in the interior but the rest is the same....

the above plus I bet they added a bit to the sticker, big thing you might look into is the warranty on each, could be a big difference hiding there.

late 06 and 07 5.9's are the same powertrain wise. The autos have 3.73 gears the manuals have the 4.10's cosmatics and electrical did change but not much I.E. you cant just swap tail lights between the 2 different wiring.

Im pretty sure the gearing is the other way around. When the G56 came out they did away with the 4.10 rear for manuals. The tranny is geared lowerer than the NV5600.

06 manuals are all 3.73,autos are 3.73 unless ordered 4.10,but you will find a few on the lots with 4.10 but mostly 3.73. 06 tail lights are flat,07 are round and stick out a couple of inches.I think I read on here that they changed the gear ratio for 6th gear in the manual in later 07 models .
