Bought the truck in Nov '16 with 169k on it. Used oil then but didn't catch it until a month or so later after some possible damage had been done. Pulled pretty well then, now I get valve clatter on hard acceleration, couple with low power, excessive smoke, mostly gray and black. Occasionally on hard acceleration I also get the check engine light and on idling down in from higher rpms(above 2000) the grid heater light comes on and also chimes 5-10 times. The only codes that are coming up are p0111 and p0113. Please keep in mind I'm new here. And this is my first Cummins.

 

start off by changing all your filters (oil, fuel, air) and oil. do your valve lash and replace your IAT sensor or you can try cleaning it. also check the connection on your IAT sensor. after that see how it runs and report back.
