05 towed to dealer

05 towed to dealer
I was heading up to the mountains for my second day of snowmobiling, and right before I hit the mountain pass, some girl passes me and points to pull over. I get out of my truck and she procedes to tell me that I'm blowing oil all over the road/her windshield. I look under the truck, and its coated with black oil, along with the side of my truck and my entire trailer. The oil looks to be coming from a black drain hose, next to the drain for the fuel filter. The top of the motor is clean enough to eat off of. I immediatly think I squeeked the motor, but after reading a little on this site it sounds like an injector. My check engine light came on a few days ago, but has gone off, then back on since.
Dealer will check it out tomorrow, and give me a call.
I thought this truck had a 70k warranty, but was informed it is just on the drivetrain. Is an injector part of the drivetrain, or covered under the engine warranty? 05 with 46k on the odo. Will pulling a 6k trailer with a bad injector hurt the motor?
thanks

7/70,000 on drive train.
5/100,000 on engine.
I beleave if your not over 70,000 miles the engine warranty can go up to 7 years also.
The injector is covered under engine warranty.
I you hurt the engine or not all depends on how long the injector was failing. Only driving time will tell for sure.

that tube is the crankcase breather, small occasional drips of oil is normal. oil and fuel pouring out of it is not.
get that quad off before they see it, or you are eating all the repair bills including the towing, sorry, but that is how it works.

The quad wasn't on when this happened.
I spent 2 hrs cleaning oil off my trailer, does the dealer clean the truck or can I plan on 2 hrs at the carwash after I pick it up?
How would I know if their was internal damage, as I'm sure the oil will be drained/filled, new injector, fire it up and go.

Got it back, and it runs great. They had it all washed up for me, however I was charged for an oil change (I didn't mind because it was past due). I did ask the service writer why I would be charged, as the injector is what contaminated the oil, and an oil change would be part of fixing the problem. Writer said that an oil change isn't part of warranty work. I probably could have pushed the issue, but why jump on the negative side of someone making decisions about warranty work on your vehicle thats not completely stock.

The same thing happened to me. Oil all over the place. I had just towed my trailer and left behined for some work. I am glad it was not behined my truck when the injector stuck. 15000 miles on my 05 when it happened. The dealer did not charge me for an oil change. As soon as i got home with the truck I changed the oil again. I only have about 750 miles on the truck since it happened, seems to be running better than every. Good luck with your truck, I had to spend about 20 bucks at the car wash to get most of the oil off the bottom of the truck.

I hope Dodge takes care of you! I have 2 neighbors with Fords that had bad injectors and did the same thing, overflow the oil and 1 blew the engine. Both had the engine light on and it was ignored for days because they didn't have time. Ford rejected both of there claims because they kept driving around with the light on and they ruined the engines!!
After some legal proceedings 1 engine was replaced but any future warranty was denied. The other was let go back to the bank and now the owner has bad credit.
Both trucks were stock, Ford checked the computers and could tell exactly how long they were driven with the light on.
Something to think about!

My dealer had to do three oil changes before they found the problem on mine. I told them it had something to do with the injectors but the said they checked them and they were all good. The injector per say was not bad it was the sealing ring where it goes into the head. I did not pay for any of the oil changes and they detailed it in and out and steam clean the underneath. I asked them if I could if I could have them do the same to my Rock crawler and trailer, they just laughed. They told me that since the oil had to be changed due to a warranty problem it was on their dime.
