'05 Manual Trans?
My old man is looking at an '05 3500 SRW w/ a 6-speed manual. It has 48000 miles on it. Is there anything he needs to know (positive and negative) about the tranny? It also has an after-market "e-brake" (exhaust brake) that was put on it. Thanks

Just sold my 2000 with the NV5600. 205,000 miles. Had 3.55 gears. Changed the clutch at 185,000. If it's a NV5600 with the reverse to the right and up, its the best one out there. Huge gears.
If you towing heavy, its want you want. As said above 3.73's work good but if you close to max rating on the tow, 4.10 is want you want. Will keep the RPM's up in 6th on the hwy.

Thanks for the replies, he ended up getting an '06 3500 with a manual and he's very happy. he's never owned a diesel rig before but the '91 1/2 ton Chevy just wasn't cutting it anymore and he knew how pleased I've been with the CTD.
