'05 48RE exhaust brake

Called my local Dodge parts guys to see if there was an update for my tranny so that I could use an exhaust brake. After some time, he determined that the trans in the 05 & 06 was the same part number. He told he to call Daimler/Chrysler customer service. They told me to call Cummins. Cummins told me that the motors in the 05 & 06 were the same motors and that either one is capable of using an exhaust brake and it must be in the electronic control module. Now back to the Dodge parts guy. I asked about the EMC's, he told me that they are vehicle specific and had 11 part numbers for the EMC's. But for warranty reasons could not suggest a different EMC. So after 2 hours on the phone, it came down to the electric control module. So somewhere out there somebody has an exhaust brake that is functional. Any info would be greatly appreciated in setting up the 05 with an exhaust brake.
P.S. I've been driving big trucks for 30 years and shifting gears on the weekends is not something I want to do.

Wire around the ECM,Some have had trouble with the cruise control on 2005,I like the ECM bypass it give the operator more options except for the cruise.

according to ats diesel performance, pac brake has one for the 05, they recommend a torque convertor upgrade but you could run it till it blowws and then put in the torque convertor

they also have a control module for the tranny tha will allow it to have real od off function.

Any idea on the prices/availability on this stuff?

TC/VB/exhaust brake and trans control would be great next mods, lol!

I was just quoted this on a PacBreak, the prices will go up at the end of the year..FYI

We can offer you the PacBrake PXRB direct mount for $899 with no sales tax or freight.... if your out of the state of WA... if your in state, than I'm forced to charge you WA sales tax...

This is a complete kit.... and a price that I think you'll find no where else... We offer this pricing to TDR members..

There are 2 options that some customers wish to have... one is a shifter mounted power switch.... this is a billet aluminum housing that powdercoated black with switch.... I personally like this switch.... it moves the switch that comes in the kit from under the dash and puts it close at hand.... This kit is 29.00...

The second option is a small air tank... this improves the time it takes the brake to come on.... but there is still a small time delay of about 1 1/2 seconds built into the ECM.... this allows the fuel pressure to drop in the rail system so that the fuel pressure is at idle settings before the brake comes on.... what this air tank kit is great for... is if you wish to add air bags or an air horn... as this kit will handle those options very well.... This tank would also handle a kids bike tire, but is not large enough to handle a car or light truck tire.... this kit is 69.00

I looked on the website, I think a good "combo" would be the pac break, triple lock converter, the valvebody and the controler.

Not sure what the controler would do.... or which one a guy would need for an '05 with the 48re, but, sounds like a good combo. Could control your break, converter, OD shut off, etc. Lots of money though.....

I already have airbags on mine, so an air tank deal would be good too....
