04.5 exhaust temp

hey guys I am wanted to lower my egts. I have a 04.5 dodge the only mods that I am running for performance is the edge juice with attitude I have pretty much ran it on stock since day one its main purpose was the gauges I also have 35/12.5/20 toyo mud terrains other than that all stock pulling a 16 foot cattle trailer with one 700 pound bull on moderate grades keeping the fuel constant it will see 1350 no problem is this harmful and what is the best way to get egts down

I have an 06 with the Diablosport Predator set on the 100hp tune and have pulled a lot heavier loads than that and have never been over 1100. If I try I can get my egts up there, but I have to try by lugging the truck. I have analog gauges, maybe there not as sensitive as your edge's gauges. I have never hit 1300 ever. I don't know why your getting that hot with no more weight your pulling. Make sure your egt sensor is installed correctly not touching the back side of your manifold. But if your egts are that high just try putting on an intake and turbo back exhaust. If that don't help try water/methanol injection. That will really help.

i had those egts with my old engine. i melted #1 piston and valves. tis new engine will hit 1300-1350 but i have to work her very very hard. one sign of high egts on these trucks is bad injectors. get them looked at SOON

Get rid of the Edge would be a good choice. 1300 degrees with an Edge and water\meth has been known to toast pistons. I think they use too much timing and duration to get the power.

Get rid of the tires and the Temp will drop run the same size tires that it came out on it.

the edge is not that bad. I have an S and B cold air intake as well as cat gone and straight through MBRP muffler on my 04.5. I pull a 8000# fifth wheel with my edge on 3x5 and can see 1300 on a steep grade with my foot into it, but everyone else does too with any other kind of programmer/box, etc pulling heavier weights. I would send the edge in and have it checked. JMHO

I pull A 14K+ Race Car trailer (ASCS Outlaw winged Sprint) even when I'm pulling on Flat ground I back off on the tuner with that load,, and I can use 6 (over Drive) and the egts run 800+ But on real good hills it will spike to 1350 I have learned to Get it in 5th gear and rev a few hundred RPM higher and the EGTs come down to the 1100 range on the grades,,,,, my tires arent near as tall as yours,, Ive seen posted here that for the newer 3 gens will tolerate the 1300-1400 egts w/out problems,,,
