I've been running SW3 on the Smarty here for the past two weeks. Usually run it on 5. Well, the truck seems to have more of a ticking/pinging sound than normal, but once the turbo comes in around 1500 or so rpm, it's all right. Also the fuel mileage is great, got 24 mpg highway the other day even with my 4.10s. I've ran my truck hard a few times. I'm not gonna lie about that. Of course I had to test out the smarty. Also, sometimes when at WOT, it sounds like the truck is cutting out, like it stumbles, then picks back up, but seems slower than it used to be. I don't know if anybody can understand this but it's all greek to me.

 

By your sig. it looks like you are running the stock fuel pump. It's probubly running dry causing the "stumble". You should look into a FASS or Glacier diesel kit. On the ticking, I don't know how your weather is there, but my truck has gotten a little noisier lately until the engine temp comes up as the temps outside drop. Hope this helps.

 

Ya, I was kinda thinking that the ticking was due to the weather, I let it warm up for a few minutes. I just can't justify letting it idle for very long wasting that much fuel if ya know what I mean. It's 3.57 a gallon here, and I struggle to pull in $120 a week with school going right now.
