03 47re and Mystery Switch

My eyes are square from reading the forums and think I get it, but I am not sure.

I have an 03 with a 47re (freshly rebuilt with upgraded TC and VB).

I couldn't swing the money for the extra upgrades just for an exhaust brake, but after readng I found out I could use a switch to lock up the tranny and then I could use one. Hmmmm

And now here I am.

I have read up on the 48re switch and some older 47re (99) but nothing near mine and I want to make sure I get this right.

Anyone have the exact steps on what to do to try this? I think it would be more fun and see what happens than going and buying the kit. Any help is appreciated!

Wire it the same as a 48RE and you will be good. Really nothing to do with the trans, just the computer and how to fool it. Wire the resistor in on the ground side of the switch and you are good to go.

Trans will NOT downshift with TC locked. You will need to manually take it out of OD then activate the lockup switch.

The switch does not address the issues of keeping apply pressure up though. For that you woul need a TQ Loc from BD. Trying to use an EB with the throttle at rest is not doing your trans any favors.
