0 Deg. F & Truck Started w/ No Problems
Truck parked outside overnight, not plugged in, got to 0 deg. F, and cranked it up & it started as easy as it does in summer. I'm running 15W-40 dino too!
I was impressed!

shouldn't have problems until about -16 and that will be fuel gelling. happened to me last year in Iowa when the truck stop wasn't running winter fuel ? Not sure what the hell they were drinking in Fort Dodge but anyway. It also didn't help the out let I plugged into that night happened to be dead. Blue started ok, a little slow but fired with only a couple extra turns, but only ran for about 1.5 min. and died just as I was headed back into the hotel to eat breakfast. Took until 11 to get it moved to another outlet and put a bunch of diesel 911 in the tank. Warmest it was that whole week was -6. Just made this Texas boy shiver thinking back on it

according to the manual you don't need to plug it in untill it reaches -20*f. But if it is below 30* I plug mine in to help it start easier and also so I have heat sooner. and I found out the hard way about the cord thing too. now I use one with the lighted end so I know I've got power. also I never trust truck stop fuel even if it says arctic. I still dump in a little anti-gel. It can never hurt unless I don't put it in and get caught with my pants down by the stupid truck stops that are too cheap to run arctic and don't tell you!!

I've started one at -35 (with 25mph wind chill, so somewhere around -58) without plugging it in.
In Thompson Manitoba.
It wasn't real happy at first, but it sustained itself and eventually cleared up. This was with delvac 5w 40 synthetic and arctic fuel though.

Mine started flawlessly after setting in the weather all day at 7 degrees....I am using Mobil 1 5w40 synthetic, but it just cranked right over....sure runs crappy for the first minute or so...then smooths out nicely....

Vehicles are not affected by windchill, but starting at -35 is still pretty darn good.
