Gus, what Les Schwab did you get your brake inspection done? If I were you, I would question whether or not the firm you PAID to do the inspection actually DID the inspection, rather than being like "Yes, sir...you're good to go!" just to get you out the door. NO reputible business would have let you walk out of their shop with brake wear like the wear that you have without recommending new brakes...If you would have crashed and ended up severely hurt and they did your vehicle inspection and determined it to be faulty brakes when you JUST had them inspected less than 1k miles ago...you would have owned half of their company. That's shady stuff right there...

I just wonder if the brakes were ok when checked and they pad fell apart since then...

I just did front brakes on a 2001 and all the pads looked good except for the inside driverside.. it was totally gone and riding on the pads metal backing plate..

on this truck all was good and on a 200 mile trip the front started squeeking.. reast of the pads had about 1/2 pad left...

We went to Nappa and bought 2 new rotors.. they were in stock..

How many miles on your truck? I have 69k on the original brakes. I'll be changing them this weekend though.

If you would have ordered them yesterday, couln't they have had them today? Most of the stores around here could have. Don't know about where you are out west and all though.

I had my '98 from Sept of '97, to Oct of '06.........original rotors turned twice. Before I sold the truck, they didn't look half that bad.

I have a suspiscion that something in the rear brakes may be out of adjustment. It might be worth looking into IMHO.
