Don't know if this is the right place?,, My son just bought a 98 4x4 1/2 ton "gasser",blows fusses fast as you turn on wiper sw., To get him by i took off crowl and cut the solid ''blue" wire to the wiper mtr., I helped him pull off cover under steering colum???,I gave him a look ;then i looked over at my old 91 "DIESEL ",handed him the screwdriver,,,,," you in a heap of trouble boy".

If it blows the fuse as soon as you turn on the wipers, unplug the wiring connector from the wiper motor. If it doesn't blow the fuse anymore when you turn on the switch, the problem is in the wiper motor.

My wipers quit returning to park last winter after they got stuck on an icy windshield. I priced a new motor at AZone & note some related parts.
Check out: "Motor Pulse Board Module" and "Wiper Transmission". Damage may be obvious when you take it out.
